| Precise, accordion-like pleats give a clean, modern look on both the inside and outside of the drapery. Pleats are identical both front and back. Suspended below the track, Accordia-Fold is ideal for both commercial and residential installations. with a stackback space as low as one sixth of the drapery width, Accordia-Fold is the tightest stacking system of all.
Accordia-Fold draperies start with the fabrication of a flat panel, according to the Kirsch Fabrication Guides No. 1144 buckram is sewn into the panel heading for stiffening. Nylon snap tape is cut to match the panel width, and then prepared, using Accordia-Fold templates 92931, 92932. or 92933, by adding snaps for both master and return. The prepared tape is then sewn to the stiffened heading, and pleats are sewn as specified by the Fabrication Guide, both front and back, according to the markings on the tape. There are three tape spacings. The tape spacing determines the stack depth and width, not the fullness. | Fullness is determined by the pleat depth. Pleats are spaced further apart as snap spacing increases.this proportions the heading size to the window size. The snap tape can be eliminated by using sew on pleaters or tab carriers. Accordia-Fold draperies can be fabricated in 40, 80, 100, or 120 percent.
Accordia-Fold draperies are easy to install. Pleats fall into uniform folds, front and back, so draperies hang neatly and dress quickly. Accordia-Fold Systems I and II Systems I and II use nylon snap tape. The draperies on Systems I and II are identical, only the track is different, based on installation requirements and the preference of the specifier. |
Accordia-Fold Systems III and IV Systems III and IV use 1144 buckram and sew-on pleaters which attach to carriers. Spacing must be marked on the top of the hemmed panels, using our Accordia-Fold templates 92931, 92932 or 92933. Templates mark both the location of the pleats and of sew-on pleaters. Accordia-Fold System V System V uses 92122 sew-on tab carrier with 92114 or 92115 master pleaters. Spacing must be marked on the top of the hemmed panels, using Accordia-Fold templates 92931, 92932 or 92933. Templates mark both the location of pleats and of sew-on pleaters. Draperies made in this manner must be installed through the pulley housing. |
